Izzy Ellis

Solicitor

Izzy is a member of the Legal Aid Immigration Team and leads our project providing representation to women facing deportation.

Since joining Turpin Miller in February 2021, Izzy has developed a specialism in representing clients challenging deportation. She accepts referrals from across the women’s prison estate and assists clients with appeals in the First-Tier and Upper Tribunals.

Izzy has significant experience working with survivors of trafficking and gender based violence, and those suffering from serious mental illness.

Izzy regularly works on immigration bail applications and assists clients in obtaining Home Office accomodation. She also has experience working on immigration applications for victims of domestic abuse.

Izzy qualified as a solicitor in March 2024 after receiving an award from the Social Welfare Solicitors Qualification Fund. She is a qualified Senior Immigration Caseworker and also holds an LLM in Human Rights Law.

Previously, Izzy worked at The New Humanitarian where she contributed to investigations focused on humanitarian crises. Between 2015 - 2018 she worked with NGOs providing assistance to asylum seekers in Greece.
