We are delighted to announce that Laura Coyle, Partner and Head of Housing Team at Turpin Miller, has been appointed co-chair of the Housing Law Practitioners Association (HLPA) Executive Committee alongside Tim Baldwin of Garden Court Chambers and Dianne Cowie of Duncan Lewis.
HLPA was set up to provide a forum for housing practitioners to share knowledge and information. Membership is open to all those who use housing law for the benefit of the homeless, tenants, and other occupiers of housing. HLPA members include solicitors, barristers, advice workers, independent environmental health officers and other housing specialists.
Laura has extensive experience acting for tenants in defending possession and injunction proceedings, as well as bringing disrepair actions and in conducting complex homelessness cases involving judicial review applications and County Court appeals.
Laura is ranked in the Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner where she is described as an “absolute stand out” who “knows housing law like the back of her hand and is thoughtful and strategic” and is commended for going above and beyond for vulnerable clients.
